In the Gulf of Saint-Tropez this March 2024, sports enthusiasts have plenty to cheer about. From sailing to golf and even pétanque, the region is buzzing with a plethora of thrilling sports events.
Here’s an overview of those you can join or simply watch, as the atmosphere promises to be festive and welcoming.
Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th: Armen Regatta in Cavalaire-sur-Mer
The 46th edition of the ArMeN festival, named after the fusion of Art (= Art), Sea (= Mer), and Snow (= Neige), will kick off the major events organized by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez.
Scheduled from March 8th to 17th, 2024, this event, launched in 1978, offers a unique blend of sailing, skiing, and art. On the agenda: an artistic competition, a ski competition, and two weekends of races, including a round-trip crossing between Saint-Tropez and Cavalaire.
For art enthusiasts, an exceptional exhibition organized by Cécile de Kock will bring together several painters and sculptors from the region at the Salle Jean Despas in Saint-Tropez, from March 9th to 17th.
The first weekend of racing is set for March 9th and 10th, with a departure from Saint-Tropez. If weather permits on Saturday, participants will sail to Cavalaire, where they will receive a warm welcome from the city, the harbor, and the Cavalaire Yacht Club. On Sunday, March 10th, the sailboats will depart from Cavalaire at 11 am to return to Saint-Tropez.
Saturday, March 9th: Petanque Tournament in Grimaud
Prize: €150 + entry fees.

Sunday, March 17th: Enduro des 3 Caps 2024 in Gassin
The 8th edition of the « Enduro des 3 Caps » is back, featuring 5 specials and 6 electric bike (VAE) specials throughout the day in the hills overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
This year, the AC Gassinois (Future Cyclist Gassinois) has redesigned the course to bring new features and excitement.
While it’s a physically demanding event, it promises great camaraderie as participants ride together and chat during transitions, all while enjoying the spectacular landscapes of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
After the competition, a grand « pasta party » will be offered to competitors, filled with joy and good humor.

Saturday, March 23rd: Swing Flower Competition at Golf Up (Grimaud)
SWING FLOWER is a golf competition open to all: beginners and seasoned players alike, come and have fun on the 9-hole course (1 hour and 15 minutes of play).
Play in single strokeplay during this spring-themed fancy dress competition.
Dress code: hippie. The Table des Oliviers invites you to a delicious barbecue followed by the prize-giving ceremony.
Schedule:
- 11:00 am, player registration.
- 11:30 am, start of the competition, play in single strokeplay, 9-hole course. Opportunity to lower your handicap.
- 1:00 pm, players return followed by an aperitif.
- 1:30 pm, lunch around a delicious barbecue at La Table des Oliviers.
- From 1:30 pm, shoot out.
Sunday, March 24th: Gulf of Saint-Tropez Marathon
The marathon will pass through 8 municipalities in the Gulf (Sainte-Maxime, Grimaud, Gassin, Cogolin, Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle, La Croix-Valmer, and Cavalaire), starting from Sainte-Maxime and winding its way through the heart of Saint-Tropez, offering a challenging yet enjoyable course through exceptional sites.
You can choose between the following options:
- The marathon (41.195 km) which connects Sainte-Maxime to Cavalaire-sur-Mer
- The 2 x 21.1 km: form a team of two to each run a half marathon
- The marathon relay: Each team must consist of 4 relay runners. They will be free to organize themselves as they wish as long as they use the existing relay points to complete the entire distance, with each runner only running once and continuously.
- The Transgolfe: Cover the first 18 kilometers of the marathon
Departure is at 8 am from the Pont du Préconil in Sainte-Maxime.
You can also participate in the 10-kilometer race, which will depart from Domaine de la Croix in La Croix Valmer at 8:30 am.
